the history
The vision of a middle class working family started taking shape after they bought an eight-acre piece of land on the banks of a lake in
remote Garade Village, 29 Km from the city of Pune. The first four years were spent overcoming bureaucratic hurdles, and in infrastructure developments.
It was in July of 2002, that SAI CHILDREN’S HOME was finally born as a shelter for six destitute children with help from family and friends. Another family joined
in as trustees, and together with their joint dedicated efforts, the institute grew in quality and stability and now shelters fourteen children in the age group of four
and ten years.
In November 2004, the institute took another step forward, by starting a primary Zilla Parishad school in their own premises. The institute has never been
attached or been aided by any Government or Non-Government Organizations (NGOs).
